He is one of South Africa’s biggest musical entertainers and beloved television personalities but at heart, Emo Adams is and always has been a true Cape Town “boykie”.

Whether he’s travelling all over South Africa interviewing fascinating characters for his hit show, Jou Show Met Emo, or entertaining audiences with his talented band Take Note at his new All Star Theatre at the Cape Gate Lifestyle Centre in the Northern Suburbs, Emo knows there is no place like home and that’s the vibrant Mother City.

A proud ambassador for Cape Town Tourism and Thompson Holidays’ #LoveCapeTown City Breaks programme, Emo shared his top reasons to love his hometown with us:

What are your top 3 things to do in Cape Town?

Franschhoek morning drives, Simon’s Town lunch and V&A Waterfront dinners.

What is your hidden gem in Cape Town?

What is the most surprising thing you’ve recently learnt about Cape Town?

It is home to one of the Seven Wonders of Nature of the World!

How does Cape Town inspire you?

It formed my identity and stage persona.

What is your favourite spot to watch live music in the Mother City?
