Snow on Table Mountain!
Snow on Table Mountain today, June 15.
Table Mountain turned into a snow-capped winter wonderland on Tuesday, June 15. “When we opened the Cableway this morning we noticed that there was a light dusting of snow on the pathways and viewing decks,” said Table Mountain Cableway CEO Sabine Lehmann from the summit.
“It looks just like a winter wonderland and it lets us see the mountain in a completely different light. It’s an absolute blessing, especially for locals who don’t get to see snow very often,” said Lehmann. “It’s also particularly special today as we haven’t seen snow for about two years.”
Speaking of winter wonderlands, Table Mountain Cableway’s Winter Wonderland family special – which lets two children under 18 years ride for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult – makes a visit to the summit of Table Mountain not only super-affordable but, considering this morning’s snowfall, a pleasure for children of all ages!
The Winter Wonderland Activity Centre is great for kids, and they’re likely to spot a few special Cableway characters like Ernie the Explorer, go on a treasure trail and enjoy a great kiddies’ meal (on special) at Table Mountain Café (where you can huddle around the lovely heaters).
