Sealed with a kiss – Flickr pic of the day
With a passion for travel, tourism and social media, Cape Town is the quintessential backdrop for Media Developer Leon Jamarie and his cape adventures.
With the City as his canvass Leon paints the town red covering a range of events and activities in the peninsular while staying true to the traditional culture the mother city offers it’s children,
Originally from Durban, Leon is still an accidental tourist in the city he now calls home and as such is on the line between resident and local tourist able to provide inside knowledge and flavour to the average mundane travel blog.
He is always on the look out for that hidden gem or typical CT party. If it’s fun, relevant, he will cover it.
Says Narima, "We went walking in the Hout Bay harbour area and came across this seal and its two handler "friends" sitting on the pier – these guys literally had the seal eating from their hands and lips. In order to attract the crowds, the gentleman featured in the photo took a sardine from his container, placed it between his lips and then the huge, wild animal gently took the treat from his mouth.
"This act attracted a crowd and from the crowd emerged two South African female tourists who wanted to touch the seal. This they did [and] they eventually ended up sitting on its rump and feeding it sardines. They seemed utterly chuffed with their wild life interaction; they tipped the handler and left with huge smiles and loads of photos."
