Scarborough surfers – Flickr pic of the day

This beautiful picture of Scarborough surfers was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Hirohiko Okada aka 1/8 sec.

Hirohiko says, “Experienced surfers have many challenging surfing spots around the east coast of the Cape Peninsula. The waves can sometimes be 5-20m (16-65ft) high!

“But on this quiet Sunday afternoon at Scarborough beach, I caught surfers patiently waiting for a good wave to come ... such a peaceful moment.

“The Cape Peninsula is an area rich in natural heritage and the people who live there enjoy the harmony it holds. It’s a fascinating place and not only a surfer’s paradise but a photographer’s paradise too.”

Take in the full beauty of Cape Town and its surroundings on a tour of the Cape Peninsula. These tours give visitors the opportunity to see the variety of landscape and scenery Cape Town has to offer, and are an excellent way of orientating yourself with the coastal suburbs.
