Table Mountain Aerial Cableway’s annual rate review has just taken place and they’ve decided not to increase the cost of online tickets.
When you buy online via the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway website, you’ll still pay R170 as an adult and R80 as a child under 18 for a return ticket. The ticket office rates have increased ever so slightly, however, with adults now paying R180 for a return ticket and children (between four and 17 years)paying R90. But there’s more good news …
Aside from the obvious perks of buying online, which include being able to skip the ticket office queue and therefore saving a lot of time (and money), Table Mountain Aerial Cableway has also introduced one-way tickets for purchase online.
This is great news for hikers as it reduces the need to carry cash while walking up the mountain. Purchase your online ticket beforehand and simply redeem it once you’re ready to go back down. A one-way online ticket for adults will cost R90, and R40 for those under 18.
The special Fridays-only rates for South African senior citizens and students are also increasing slightly. Senior citizens will now pay R90 (return) or R45 (one-way) and students that produce a valid student card will pay R144 (return) and R76 (one-way).
SANParks WILD Card holders pay R144 (adult return) and R76 (adult one-way) or R72 (child return) and R36 (child one-way).
Please note that the Fridays-only and WILD Card rates cannot be bought online, but must be purchased at the ticket offices at either the Upper or Lower Cable Stations.
