Sandy toes in Camps Bay – Flickr pic of the day
Warren says, “As far as I have travelled, Cape Town remains the number one city for me and I can see myself settling down there some day – not because I am from Cape Town (which I am not) or because I am South African (which I am), but because Cape Town holds so much beauty and offers a lifestyle that most dream of, from the crystal waters and white beaches to the unique landscape, vegetation and culture.
“The people are generally a great bunch and loads of fun to hang out with.
“This picture is of my brother’s girlfriend, a Capetonian and a Hout Bay resident. We were sitting on the beach at Camps Bay enjoying some ice cream, watching the sun set, and I said to her, ‘I would like to take a pic of you walking away along the beach.’
“She cheerfully obliged my impulsive shot and posed a little.
“A few days later, after the Argus Cycle Race, she and I were driving past Camps Bay again, both drenched in sweat in her unairconditioned car and during the heatwave of March 2009. We had no swimming gear, but I convinced her to take the clothed plunge into the icy waves at the beach. We watched another beautiful sunset, sitting there in our wet clothes,” he continues.
Do you have images of Cape Town you’d like to share with us? We’d love you to join the Cape Town. Live it. Love it. Flickr group!
