Kirstenbosch Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts 2012/2013
Fazielah Williams
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.

Forget Rocking the Daisies in Darling…. This summer, Old Mutual will be rocking the fynbos at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden with its Summer Sunset Concerts, right here in Cape Town.
This popular series of concerts returns to the garden every Sunday evening from November 25, 2012 to April 7, 2013 and will feature a line-up of fantastic international and local acts. From jazz, R&B, hip hop, folk, rock to big band swing, the concerts appeal to all ages and musical tastes.
Expect to see the likes of UK-based international pop star Daniel Bedingfield, iconic jazz star Hugh Masekela, local rock stars Arno Carstens and The Parlotones, Freshlyground and singer Johnny Clegg, amongst others.
Make a day of it by gathering your mates and loved ones, packing a delicious picnic and sprawling out on the grass to enjoy the sweet sounds.
This summer’s series of sunset concerts coincides with a celebration of 21 years of concerts and the centenary year of Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, which forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom.
