Road Closures: New Year’s Eve & Cape Minstrels Carnival 2014

New Year's Eve: Road Closures and parking

On Tuesday 31 December 2013, New Year’s Eve Celebrations on the Grand Parade will start at 18:00 to 00:30, shorty followed by the nagtroepe, the Malay Choirs Parade from 00:15 to 04:00.

Parking will not be permitted for 18 hours, from 31 December 2013, 00:01 to 06:00 on 1 January 2014 on the following roads:

Keizersgracht Street between Searle and Darling streets
Darling Street
Adderley Street between Strand and Wale streets
Wale Street and Rose Street between Wale and Strand streets
Strand Street between Buitengracht and Chiapinni Street

Cape Minstrels Carnival: Road closures and parking

On Saturday 4 January 2014, the Minstrel Parade, Tweede Nuwe Jaar, will take place from 12:00 to 22:00.

Parking will not be permitted from 04:00 to 00:00, on 4 January 2014 on the following roads:

Keizersgracht Street between Searle and Darling street
Darling Street
Adderley Street between Strand and Wale streets
Wale Street and Rose Street between Wale and Strand streets
Strand Street between Buitengracht and Chiapinni streets

Getting around

Buses and taxis will be diverted from the temporary closed streets and businesses are advised to avoid deliveries on event days. Only accredited and authorised traders are allowed within the event area.

Roads closures on 31 December 2013 from 16:00 to 06:00 on 1 January 2014; and on 4 January 2014, from 06:00 to 00:00:
