Riding waves at Blouberg – Flickr pic of the day
Leif says, “This photograph was taken on a lazy Sunday afternoon at Blouberg Beach. The wind was just picking up and the kite surfers were all keen to take advantage of it.
“Having moved from Johannesburg two years ago, I’ve really learned to appreciate the variety and accessibility of outdoor activities available to Capetonians – from watersports to land-based activities like hiking and mountain biking. Add to that the magnificent backdrops and scenery, and you’ll see why I almost never go out without my camera!” he continues.
An active and outdoor lifestyle is part of the Cape Town mindset, as people can’t help but take advantage of the surrounding landscape. For waterbabies there’s water-skiing, surfing, swimming and scuba diving. If you’re happier on dry ground, the city’s nature trails and golf courses promise to keep you occupied.
