It’s official: award-winning rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to rock the Mother City’s world at the Cape Town Stadium in Green Point on Tuesday February 5, 2013.

Big Concerts, South Africa’s biggest live entertainment promoter, is certainly indulging our musical tastes by bringing a dazzling array of rock and pop artists to our shores. Linkin Park, in November, and the queen of innovation Lady Gaga, in December, are just a few of the world-renowned acts we can look forward to.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, recent inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, are sure to set our summer season on fire with their highly-anticipated performance.

The band, which has been performing since 1988, includes singer Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer (who joined in 2009).

Dedicated fans can expect all of their greatest hits, including Sir Psycho Sexy, Californication and Charlie whilst appreciating the releases, Monarchy of Roses, The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie and Did I Let You Know off their latest album, I’m With You.

Local zef band, Die Antwoord, has been taking the world by storm and will now have the honour of opening for the Chili Peppers.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday August 30, 2012, and range between R215 and R665. Get your tickets early by visiting the Computicket kiosk at the Cape Town Tourism Burg Street Visitor Information Centre. Doors open at 09h00.
