The Cape Town International Jazz Festival is a feast for eyes and ears. Here are some visual highlights from last night’s events. All photos by Stefan Hurter.
Some of the vivid artwork that complements equally evocative music resonating around the Cape Town International Convention Centre this weekend.
Smooth lyricist and a firm favourite with the ladies, Gang of Instrumentals’ Mandla N did not hold back last night.
Those attending the Cape Town International Jazz Festival this weekend come from as far afield as Portugal, China and the Netherlands. But South Africans pulled through in their droves and are turning out to be the most enthusiastic … So far.
The Bassline stage is outdoors and there’s an immaculate stretch of grass on which to kick back and take it all in. Here you can see Gang of Instrumentals giving the crowd their all.
At the Duotone Gallery you can see a fine array of some of the best jazz and music photography in the world. The exhibition includes photographs from ‘60s and ‘70s South Africa as well as portraits of major international pop icons, like Pink and Lauren Hill.
Eye-catching, local and affordable arts and crafts are on sale at the festival.
