Our #lovecapetown bloggers’ experiences in retrospect

You’ve seen the tweets, the Instagram photos, the videos and the blog posts detailing the full #lovecapetown experience with three of our favourite travel bloggers. Now that our action-packed and colourful campaign has come to end, we’d like to take you through a visual journey of the many ways that Abigail King, Carol More and Rachelle Lucas got to #lovecapetown with our highlights post of signature Cape Town experiences, as told by them.

Let’s briefly recap on the campaign details. During the month of September, to celebrate Tourism Month, we invited three of the industry’s best international travel bloggers to our shores to experience Cape Town and all this city has to offer. And in their stay at the moving #lovecapetown house, they got to bond with some of our local bloggers who were able to give the international ladies some insight into our laid-back lifestyle and culture. This year, instead of hosting the bloggers at one house, we’ve decided to shake things up a bit and use a combination of beautiful homes in spectacular settings. Thanks to Nox Rentals, Abigail, Carol and Rachelle enjoyed views of the Sea Point promenade, the Waterfront Marina and an ocean view of Camps Bay. There’s nothing more satisfying than coming home to your luxury seaside apartment after a long day of exploring. So here’s what they got up to during their stay.

Abigail King of Inside The Travel Lab had quite a unique experience of Cape Town beaches, with white sand, blue water and.. snowy mountains.

So, the township I just visited is called Masiphumelele, which means "success." But to sound local, just say "Masi" #lovecapetown #capelab

Carol Moreh of Follow The Colours literally follows the colours where ever she goes - we're really excited that our city held something bright for her to see.

Here she is whale watching in Gansbaai.

One element of Cape Town that really inspired Carol was the colourful street art in Woodstock Exchange.

Rachelle Lucas runs The Travel Bite blog where she focuses on food from around the world amongst other travel stories. Here are her favourite experiences from Cape Town.

Rachelle's first look at a Cape Town gatsby. Her words were: "Finally saw a Gatsby. Oh. My. Word. How did it get named a Gatsby? #LoveCapeTown iPhone is there to show the ridonculous size. #Feeds10"

The best way to tour vineyards in Cape Town? Cycle through them. Good times with @BikeAndSaddle.

Really blown away by the food and chefs at @LaResidenceSA. Wow. Just, wow! #LoveCapeTown

We also took Rachelle Lucas to learn how to cook local Cape Malay fare in a kitchen in the colourful Bo-Kaap during her visit to Cape Town.

Another highlight for us during this campaign was our tweet-up, which not only involved our travel bloggers, but also you, our loyal fans as you gave us your view on Cape Town’s hidden gems. Thank you all for making this campaign such a huge success for us, and remember to keep tagging your photos and videos with #lovecapetown to be featured on our wall.

Follow Abigail, Carol and Rachelle on Twitter to see which city they end up in next.
