One Night In Cape Town comes to town this week - For one night only!
Natalie Roos’ body was born in Johannesburg… but her soul was always Capetonian. At the age of 14, Natalie started work in the television industry, presenting popular local kids TV show, KTV. Ten years and another TV job later (presenting celebrity gossip show JIP on Afrikaans music channel MK), Natalie made the move down to Cape Town where she started her blog, Tails of a Mermaid (www.tailsofamermaid.com). Her love for the internet and all things communication-driven became a natural progression to a career in Social Media, where she worked in an agency managing the online presence, content and reputation of various brands.
Natalie’s passions include cats, communication and Cape Town.
En route to their festival performances at Oppikoppi up North at the weekend, these three mega-acts will perform at the Grand Arena at Grand West on Thursday night only, the 8th of August at One Night In Cape Town. The show starts early with the first act on stage at 7pm, so make sure you get there in time.
American indie rockers Manchester Orchestra will hit the stage first with a playlist which will hopefully span all three of their studio albums, including many hits from their most recent, Simple Math. South Africans will most likely know the next act best for their single "Ocean Avenue", which peaked at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the early 2000's. With seven studio albums and almost 15 years together under their belts, this American punk rock band is sure to deliver a killer performance.
Founded 25 years ago and with seven albums and a Grammy Award for "Best Metal Performance" to their credit, the final act hardly needs any introduction. For the first time on a South African stage, Deftones, with their cult following and reputation for being incredible live are sure to thrill the audience as they end the evening's show.
Tickets are available at www.plankton.mobi or on the One Night In Cape Town Facebook Page. The show is over-18's only and you will be asked to show proof of ID at the door.
