One Direction Headed to Cape Town:All of the important teenage girl screaming facts you need to know
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
By now you should know the biggest news to hit the Mother City since sliced bread - One Direction, the British boy band ,wont to drive teenage girls insane, is headed to Cape Town in April 2015.
That’s right, folks; Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles are set to rock your world at the Cape Town Stadium in Green Point on April 1, 2015, brought to you by South African promoter, Big Concerts.
The handsome quintet first rose to fame in 2010 as runners-up in the British TV signing competition, The X Factor ,which lead to a record deal with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records that spanned several hits including Kiss You, Live While You’re Young, One Way or Another and more.
Their legions of fans have eagerly followed their illustrious career (including three albums) and meteoric rise to popularity, which threatens to eclipse even the cult status of Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
I vividly remember the goose bumps-inducing, bloodcurdling screams of 52 000 prepubescent and teenage girls and their moms as they geared up for Bieber’s appearance on stage back in May 2013 … I have no doubt One Direction’s first-ever performance in Cape Town, the music-loving Mother City, will be just as wild!
