On top of the world – Flickr pic of the day

This beautiful view of Noordhoek Beach was captured by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Linda Geyser.

Linda says, “Every Friday morning for the past two years, a group of friends armed with Wild Cards, boots and sticks, maps and dogs have headed out to the mountains or beaches for a two- to three-hour hike. We call ourselves the Walkie Talkie Club.

“We have a core of about six regular walkers, but we have about 12 women on the emailing list who join us whenever they can. We are women who walk for the exercise, the great company and just to revel in the sheer beauty of our Cape.

“We always finish off the walk with coffee and muffins. Olympia Cafe (Kalk Bay), Café Roux (Noordhoek) or The Sweetest Thing (Simon’s Town) are a few of our favourite haunts.

“When I took this photo it was a real ‘king of the world’ moment. The peninsula stretched out around us on all sides,” she adds.

Table Mountain National Park offers a number of hiking trails of varying lengths which take in all the natural attractions of the park – beaches and mountain – as well as some city highlights.
