Countdown to New Year’s Eve on Table Mountain, a New7Wonder of Nature
Take the last cable car to the summit at 11pm and enjoy the views of New Year’s celebrations across Town. The last cable car comes down the mountain at 1am.
As part of the Old Mutual Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concert series, this outdoor New Year’s Eve party boasts performances by Goldfish, Yaov and Tailor.

Traditionally known as Tweede Nuwe Jaar, a celebration of when the slaves of Cape Town were only allowed one day off in the year, 2014’s colourful Cape Minstrels Carnival has been moved to Saturday 4 January, to accommodate Muslim residents and visitors who celebrate a holy night on Thursday, 2 January 2014.
Darling Street in the City Centre comes alive with the jovial instrumental music, rhythmic dancing and the bright costumes of the many Minstrels teams. It’s a great family outing.
