Netherlands vs Uruguay World Cup semi-final, Cape Town: Pictures

The Netherlands advanced to the semi-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ when they beat Uruguay 3-2 at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben all scored for the men in orange, to ensure that they advance to the finals, where they will play either Spain or Germany at Soccer City in Soweto on Sunday.

The Dutch have made their presence felt in Cape Town throughout the World Cup. Every time their team has played, fans have been out in the streets, waving their flags and wearing their bright orange outfits.

Said Cape Town Tourism CEO Mariëtte Du Toit-Helmbold, who was at the match, “I’m loving the vibe – there are thousands on the Fanwalk and now I’m sitting so close to the pitch I can hear the heartbeats of the players!”
