National Geographic in Cape Town – weekend in Cape Point

National Geographic's Andrew Evans, aka @WheresAndrew, continued his exploration of Cape Town this weekend making his way south to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Friday night was spent exploring Cape Town's nightlife, before Andrew had the chance to Kayak with evironmetalist Lewis Pugh, as well as take in the wildlife and natural beauty of Cape Point and explore the white sands of Noordhoek beach on horseback. He also did not miss the chance to sample the Two Oceans restaurant's acclaimed seafood platter.

Below are images (captioned with Andrew's tweets) detailing his weekend.

Down at St. George's Mall, listening to the knee-jumping music of Dizou Plaatjies, playing the akadinda.

Sun falls behind Hout Bay, lights up mountains all around me. No wonder so many have come from so far to live here.

Breathless as I head north along stupefyingly beautiful Chapman's Peak Drive. Tan cliffs drop off into the sea.

Sunday #seafood restaurant at Two Oceans Restaurant at Cape Point. Lobster, cape salmon, calamari, seafood curry! Yum.

Ostriches scamper on the white sandy beaches of Cape Point. (I've never seen that before!)

Riding Giffie on Noordhoek Beach, I feel like I'm Alec Ramsey in The Black Stallion. So beautiful.

Made it! Celebrating a successful and tip-free paddle around the Cape of Good Hope w/ @LewisPugh. Simply unforgettable.
