September is an exciting time to be in Cape Town, when Capetonians come out to play in the sunshine and welcome spring – on the beaches, up the mountains and in the streets. On Sunday, many people flocked to one street in particular.

The Muizenberg Street Festival took place in Palmer Road in the heart of the village, and my grandson and I took a late morning stroll to check it out. The street was humming with colourful characters, bright pavement stalls and some seriously healthy foodstuffs to scoff!

What a lovely change to get a wholesome sandwich simply brimming with goodness!

Our timing unfortunately left much to be desired, as we had missed the belly dancing as well as some live music, but the festival looked set to rock for the rest of the day. As a Muizenberger myself, I bumped into a number of friends and acquaintances, it was lovely to be part of the vibe.

I trust the festival brought some visitors right into the heart of the Muizenberg village for a special My Cape Town experience!
