Muizenberg huts – Flickr pic of the day

This photograph of the multi-coloured changing huts on Muizenberg beach was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Aparna aka Rhodentette.

Aparna said: “After moving to Cape Town for film school six years ago, I never got around to leaving. For me, Cape Town is a perfect amalgam of big-city convenience and variety and small-town community. From the peace of the forest and mountainside through the laid-back chill of bohemian Observatory to the jostling bustle of the CBD, there’s something in Cape Town for whatever mood I’m in.

“For a keen amateur photographer, Cape Town is a pleasure to live in – a simple walk to the supermarket yields endless inspiration; everywhere I look, pictures leap out at me. Like this photograph of the changing huts in Muizenberg, which are a source of ongoing fascination because I’d never seen anything like them before; and all I had to do to see them was drive to work!

“Occasionally I flirt with the idea of living somewhere else, then I remember two things: that I really love living in a city that has a mountain smack dab in the middle of it, and that the unfinished highway is probably one of my favourite things in the world,” she continued.
