Green Point lighthouse – Flickr pic of the day

The Green Point lighthouse in Mouille Point, captured here by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member John B aka moi_images, is the oldest active lighthouse in South Africa, having operated since 1824.

John describes his picture: “Early morning sunlight on the Green Point lighthouse with the moon still hanging around in the sky – breathtaking.”

Mouille Point, lying just north of Sea Point, is a well-heeled suburb with a number of cushy apartment blocks and short-term accommodation for tourists.

Much like Sea Point, Mouille Point has a promenade that runs along the coast. It’s popular with walkers and joggers, and a stroll along the scenic walkways makes for a relaxing family activity.

Do you have images of Cape Town you’d like to share with us? We’d love you to join the Cape Town. Live it. Love it. Flickr group!
