Moonlight Meander draws a crowd
Nearly 100 walkers joined the Moonlight Meander on Muizenberg Beach last Saturday.
Last Saturday, with mild weather and under a glorious full moon, nearly 100 people met outside Knead on the beachfront for the start of the monthly Muizenberg Moonlight Meander.
There were many regulars at the event, as well as people from as far afield as Plumstead and Woodstock, two constables from the Muizenberg branch of the South African Police Service and a group of rugby enthusiasts who had been watching the Western Province vs Blue Bulls game in the village pub.
On their return, walkers were treated to a complimentary slice of pizza from Knead. Many stayed on for the Moonlight Meander pizza special and to enjoy the beautiful evening.
The Moonlight Meander is a monthly fundraising event organised by volunteer organisation Safer Together on the Saturday closest to full moon. It aims to promote community safety awareness and togetherness.
The next Moonlight Meander will be held on Saturday October 3, starting at 18h00 from the corner in front of Knead, at Surfer’s Corner on Beach Road.
