Mitchell’s Plain relay teams raise funds for CANSA

Capetonians love life – and many love to help others live their best life too.

Volunteers from Mitchell’s Plain on the Cape Flats are getting together on Saturday February 28 to launch a campaign of fundraising for CANSA (the Cancer Association of South Africa).

The campaign builds up to a Relay For Life which will take place on October 2.

Relay for Life is a fun and inspiring event in which teams of 10-15 people spend a minimum of 13 hours walking or running around a track throughout the night. It’s a night event to remind us that “cancer doesn’t sleep”.

Anyone can get involved in the relay by registering a team.

The Mitchell’s Plain relay will take place at the Stephen Reagon Sports Complex in Westridge on October 2, starting at 17h00 and running until 07h00 the next morning.

Relay For Life celebrates cancer survivors, remembers loved ones lost to cancer and fights back by inspiring communities to help provide vital services to patients and their families.
