If it’s glamour, horse power and a great day out in the sun that you’re after, you can’t do much better than the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate.
This regal event will be held at the Kenilworth Racecourse this Saturday, January 8, and promises to be unforgettable. Showcasing the top equine champions, as well as the most stylishly dressed Capetonians, this event is the place to be seen this weekend.
Guests will be elegant dressed in fabulous blue and white attire, exuding a timeless elegance – the theme for the day – while vintage cars on display will also be sporting these colours.
Now in its 150th year, this year’s Queen’s Plate is set to be the best yet. With a dedicated entertainment area, the Style Lounge, bringing VIPs the best in local entertainment – Louise Carver, Locnville, Crazy White Boy and more – spectators will be racing the day and dancing the night away.
The best dressed competition and the L’Ormarins Moment photography contest will add to the competitive spirit of the day, and top prizes, including a Nikon D3S camera valued at R50 000, are up for grabs.
The Queen’s Plate was first held in 1861 in honour of Queen Victoria. Since then it has grown in size and prestige. Still a tribute to the English royal family, the race will be attended by the British High Commissioner and celebrated sponsor L’Ormarins.
Tickets for this premier horse race start at R250 and are available from Computicket.
Party like you’re royalty at the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate this Saturday!
