One hundred and sixty five judges, 14 days and one gruelling judging process later we can proudly announce the 2010 Loerie finalists! Please visit www.theloerieawards.co.za to view all finalists for this year. The Loerie winners will be announced at the awards ceremonies on Saturday, October 2 and Sunday, October 3 at the Good Hope Centre in Cape Town. A full breakdown of which categories will be awarded on each evening is available on the Loeries website.

This year an official ranking has been introduced in order to provide a transparent report on the outcome of the awards. Each award given will receive points, the values of which are based on the probability of winning each award. The exact ranking methodology and the points per award are all provided on the Loeries website. The points will be awarded to those credited on the winning entry itself and all finalists will have until Thursday, September 2 to check their credits.

Now that you know who the finalists are, what are you waiting for? Get your seats booked for The Biggest Event of the Year. Tickets can be purchased via Computicket. Discounted Mango flights are available to ticketholders from R1474, flying from Jo’burg, Durban and Bloem, and Tempest cars are available from R164 per day. Seats are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and special prices are only available while there is capacity, so book now!

This year Creative Week Cape Town will be launched in partnership with Creative Cape Town. This week-long showcase of the Mother City’s local creative talent will lead up to and culminate in the Loeries Festival Weekend (October 1-3). As a part of this initiative, the Loeries will be hosting a Student Portfolio morning on Saturday, October 2, where students will have the opportunity to showcase their best work to the industry’s top creatives.

Creative Week Cape Town includes the Battle of the Bands, Mayor’s Welcome (for VIP guests), the Chairman’s party and the official Loeries After-Parties, as well as fringe festival events. Find out more about Creative Week Cape Town and register your event at www.creativeweekct.co.za.
