Loerie Awards 2012: It’s all happening in Cape Town this week

The 34th Annual Loerie Awards is underway and there will be a large amount of activity taking place in Cape Town this week, with the awards cermonies taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Creative Week Cape Town is now in its third year and if you are interested in attending any events, have a look at the schedule, which includes information about judging, seminars, brunches, parties and more.

Both awards ceremonies will be held in the main auditorium at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) and if you don't manage to arrange tickets to either of these ceremonies, you can get tickets to watch the live streaming at Collective Dream Studios, which will also host the official after party. Read more about this on the Loeries website.

Cape Town has hosted the Loerie Awards every year since 2009 and will also host the event in 2013 and 2014. The Mother City is known for its superior creative offering, as well as for hosting excellent events. “Some people say Cape Town is too slow, but from a creative perspective, it moves at just the right speed," says Alistair King of King James, winner of the 2010 Grand Prix Award. "The creative process needs to be slow. Cape Town simply has a great creative vibe, which is very difficult to describe to someone who hasn’t experienced it."

Last year's two awards ceremonies at the CTICC were hosted by South African broadcast legend, Riaan Cruywagen and television series legend, David Hasselhoff. To get in the Loeries spirit, have a look at some photos from last year's event.
