Listen to TimeOutTourist on Cape Talk to win fabulous Valentine’s Day prizes
All you need is love, or so the saying goes, and that is exactly what we at Cape Town Tourism are giving you! The month of February is the month of romance and the best time to celebrate love. Cape Town Tourism is making the month of hearts and roses an extra special one this year with a Valentine’s competition, romantic packages and special promotions.
Cape Town Tourism and Cape Talk will be giving away prizes to the value of almost R10 000! And for making this huge giveaway possible, we want to give a loving thank you to our sponsors, including the Cape Royale Luxury Hotel, Equinox Spa and Wellness Centre, 1800 Degrees Restaurant and Pieter Toerien and Hazel Feldman in association with Disney Theatrical Productions.
To stand a chance at winning these great prizes, listen to TimeOut on Cape Talk Radio (567mw), on Tuesday February 10 at 2pm.
Let’s start with the ultimate love story
We will be giving away three double tickets for this Friday evening (February 13), for “beauties and beasts” to go and enjoy Beauty and the Beast at the Artscape Theatre.
The show has opened to standing ovations in the Mother City and is a replica of the international production in virtually every respect, aside from the top-notch cast of local actors.
Pieter Toerien and Hazel Feldman are producing it in South Africa in association with Disney Theatrical Productions.
Based on the 1991 Disney film of the same name, it tells the tale “as old as time”; a love story in two acts – beginning with a young, spoiled prince who is transformed into a hideous beast because of his selfishness. In order to have the spell broken, he has to learn to love another and earn her love in return.
The journey is magical and emotive and has had audiences enthralled by the exceptional cast’s performances, imaginative sets, delightful choreography and breathtaking costumes.
For those not lucky enough to win the tickets, Beauty and the Beast runs at the Artscape Opera House until March 8, 2009. Ticket prices range from R150 to R400 and can be booked through Computicket on +27 83 915 800 or +27 21 421 7695.
The Cape Town Tourism office on Burg Street also has a Computicket desk. Contact them on +27 21 487 6800.
And now a prize fit for “Royalty”
Win a fantastic opportunity to stay in the lap of luxury, rekindle your romance, or even provide the perfect moment to propose…
We’ll even thrown in an Equinox Spa Valentine’s Package which includes a glass of bubbly with fresh fruit on arrival, followed by a 90 minute couple’s massage in a deluxe duo suite – valued at R1 200.
And for the fabulous finalé, enjoy a romantic dinner for two at 1800 Degrees Grill Room to the value of R600.
Another chance to win with Cape Town Tourism
The Cape Town “Month of Romance” competition with Cape Town Tourism will see some lucky-in-love storytellers win great prizes.
To enter, the public is invited to visit the new Cape Town website and specifically the blog. Submit your romantic Cape Town story and stand a chance to win. Please email your entries before February 12 2009 (17h00) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The best entries will be selected by a panel of “love gurus” and the winners will be publicly announced at the official launch of the new Cape Town website on 23 February 2009.
Cape Town is the natural backdrop to any love story – it’s an exceptionally romantic place. We have excellent restaurants to dine in, plush, pampering hotels to book for a little surprise and yet there are also so many outdoor places where you can celebrate love for free!
Check out our Valentine’s specials and choose from a host of indulgent getaways and memorable experiences to make your day for romance unforgettable!
I am definitely planning a romantic Valentine’s with a twist this year. The Microlight Safari with Aquila over Table Mountain and the Atlantic Seaboard appeals to me and then I will end the day with romance, roses and plenty of pampering at Celtic Manor and Spa in Gordon’s Bay.
Now for “suggesting” this to my husband…
