She’s celebrating 1 000 days in the Mother City on Tuesday 18 June, 2013 and from her numerous photos, social media posts and on air shout outs, it’s clear for all to see that media personality Liezel van der Westhuizen loves Cape Town.

From hosting two programmes on local radio station 94.5 Kfm to being a columnist for weekly entertainment publication The Next 48 Hours, and now the presenter of the recently launched 48 HoursTV’s show Living It Up, the gorgeous former Pretoria resident is one busy girl – but it doesn’t keep her from exploring and enjoying the multitude of sights, attractions and activities in Cape Town.

A proud ambassador for Cape Town Tourism and Thompson Holidays’ #LoveCapeTown City Breaks programme, Liezel shared her top reasons to love her adopted hometown with us:

What are your top 3 things to do in Cape Town?

Exploring Cape Point, hiking up Table Mountain, and the Two Oceans Aquarium marine eco-tour.

What do you miss most about the Mother City when you’re away?

I miss Table Mountain, our Wonder of Nature, and the sea air.

The city is situated on the Camissa, a fresh river that runs underground.
