Kite-surfing into the sunset – Cape Town Tourism Flickr pic of the day

This photo was taken by one of our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group members, Andrew Hudson, on Dolphin Beach, Blouberg.

Bloubergstrand lies on the west side of Table Bay, and is a popular spot with surfers and kite-surfers.

Andrew says, “We live in rainy Manchester, England. This was our first visit to South Africa. This beach is a very special place for me and my partner Rachel because I proposed there (and she said yes). I had spent all afternoon looking for the perfect place to ask her.

“Dolphin Beach was perfect because the sun was setting as we got there and it is a fantastic view of Cape Town and Table Mountain. It was also extremely tranquil, with only a few kite-surfers about. We walked along the beach for a while afterwards and then retired to our villa in Blouberg to have a braai, our favourite South African custom (along with malva pudding), and a glass of champagne,” he continues.
