As love affairs go, most begin passionately but then peter out in a few months or years. For social media dynamo Jesse Desjardins, though, a 72-hour stay in the gorgeous Mother City is sure to leave him pining for years.
Having just finished a brief trip to Jordan, Jesse will be working on his next travel project, 72 Hours in Cape Town, from Wednesday to Friday, October 20 – 22. Over three heart-stopping days, he will be updating his Twitter, Facebook and blog followers on his adventures in and about the city via his BlackBerry, laptop, mobile and more – did we mention he’s a tech junkie?
Yes, our hometown is heart-achingly beautiful and the most awesome place to live, but will she be able to seduce the world’s most connected traveller?
What a question! Jesse will be wooed with all sorts of authentic Cape experiences, including romantic walks along our beaches, breathtaking views from our majestic mountain and visits with awesome aquatic animals.
If the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then the fairest Cape need not worry, since Jesse will be savouring all of her culinary delights, including the tantalizing tastes of traditional Cape Malay and African cooking.
No seduction is complete without good wine, and so a visit to our winelands is a must. To set the mood, live performances by a few of the city’s greatest musicians are also on offer.
Unlike meeting the parents of a lover, Jesse’s introduction to the locals will be much less daunting. With an array of visits planned to many of Cape Town’s incredible suburbs, from Constantia to Gugulethu and Camps Bay to Kalk Bay, a friendly welcoming for this worldly suitor is guaranteed.
Just when Jesse thinks he’s seen it all, the Mother City invites him to dance the night away with her at some of her most vibrant nightlife venues.
With a kiss of good weather, a bouquet of dazzling sights and three days of heart-stopping experiences, Jesse has little choice but to fall in love. Follow his adventure on facebook.
Having been voted the planet’s most connected traveller, Jesse, a digital strategist, spends 72 hours in various travel destinations, as an E-Tourism Frontiers ambassador, demonstrating the power of social media in travel.
His love affair with Cape Town kicked off yesterday morning and ends on Friday, October 22. He will be a guest speaker at the E-Tourism Africa Summit on October 25, when he will be sharing his 72 Hours in Cape Town experience with the summit’s attendees.
