Into the green at Kirstenbosch – Flickr pic of the day

This beautiful photo of the lush Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Pieter de Vos aka Night is Coming.

Pieter says, “The thing I love most about Cape Town is its natural beauty.

“From its picturesque mountains to the two oceans breaking on its coasts, its lush and leafy areas, and the Cape winelands with their rolling vineyards – the Cape is a photographer’s dream.

“This picture was taken at Kirstenbosch on an overcast Sunday morning.

“The dew was still fresh on the leaves and everything looked so green. I just had to capture this view,” he continues.

Kirstenbosch was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 2004 – the first botanical garden in the world to receive this honour.
