#InstagramDiary: V&A Market on the Wharf
Natalie Roos’ body was born in Johannesburg… but her soul was always Capetonian. At the age of 14, Natalie started work in the television industry, presenting popular local kids TV show, KTV. Ten years and another TV job later (presenting celebrity gossip show JIP on Afrikaans music channel MK), Natalie made the move down to Cape Town where she started her blog, Tails of a Mermaid (www.tailsofamermaid.com). Her love for the internet and all things communication-driven became a natural progression to a career in Social Media, where she worked in an agency managing the online presence, content and reputation of various brands.
Natalie’s passions include cats, communication and Cape Town.
With winter fast approaching, it’s safe to assume that we will soon all be looking for indoor options to keep us busy over the rainy season.
Cape Town has loads to offer those seeking a little respite from the wet, but food must be one of the most popular options. We recently opened our Instagram account, where we'll be posting an #InstagramDiary every Wednesday (Thursdays here on the blog), creating a visual diary of a few of the city’s many activities.
This week’s diary was inspired by Wednesday’s rainy weather, and shot at the V&A Market on the Wharf at the V&A Waterfront. The market has been open since early 2013 has proved very popular with its wide variety of tasty options, from Mexican food, dim sum and samoosas to artisan cheese and ice cream ... not to mention the fully stocked bar. There are options catering to every taste and dietary requirement, including vegetarian and healthy salad options. The upstairs area offers a kiddies' play zone and free wifi, with loads of seating for those wanting to linger for a while.
Follow us on Instagram for more #InstagramDiaries and lots of pictures of inspirational Cape Town. We'd love you to join in the conversation and sharing, by using the #lovecapetown hashtag with your pictures. You can also follow the Market on the Wharf on Instagram and Twitter to keep up to date with their events and competitions.
