#InstagramDiary: the awesome architecture of Long Street
Natalie Roos’ body was born in Johannesburg… but her soul was always Capetonian. At the age of 14, Natalie started work in the television industry, presenting popular local kids TV show, KTV. Ten years and another TV job later (presenting celebrity gossip show JIP on Afrikaans music channel MK), Natalie made the move down to Cape Town where she started her blog, Tails of a Mermaid (www.tailsofamermaid.com). Her love for the internet and all things communication-driven became a natural progression to a career in Social Media, where she worked in an agency managing the online presence, content and reputation of various brands.
Natalie’s passions include cats, communication and Cape Town.
Long Street is the perfect place to stay if you want to be right in the heart of the City Bowl. With a variety ofbackpackers, hostels and hotels to choose from, there is an accommodation option to suit any budget. With the huge selection of restaurants and bars lining the street, you'll have to have to spend morning, noon and night eating and drinking if you want to experience it all. If you need a break from the eating and nightlife, pop into the Long Street Baths for a swim or a bit of relxation time in the steam facilities.
When walking down Long Street, I can't help but look up ... The beautiful architecture is mostly Victorian, notable for the intricate wrought iron balconies, which absolutely beg to be photographed. I took a stroll and took some pictures of my favourite buildings in Long Street for our lovecapetown #InstagramDiaries.
