In the pink at Kirstenbosch – Flickr pic of the day

This beautiful image of a king protea at Kirstenbosch Gardens was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Gaby Gang aka cosmopolitan photography.

Gaby says, “Being a national tourist guide with my own business, I love to show the world how beautiful my city and country are.

“Photography opportunities are countless as we are blessed with beautiful scenery and the right lighting,” she continues.

Kirstenbosch was established in 1913 to protect the immense floral wealth of the Cape region. Located on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, this 528ha (1 305 acre) botanical wonderland is magnificent in any season.

The king protea, captured so beautifully in this image, is South Africa’s national flower.

Do you have images of Cape Town you’d like to share with us? We’d love you to join the Cape Town. Live it. Love it. Flickr group!
