Honeymoon in Cape Town – Flickr pic of the day
With a passion for travel, tourism and social media, Cape Town is the quintessential backdrop for Media Developer Leon Jamarie and his cape adventures.
With the City as his canvass Leon paints the town red covering a range of events and activities in the peninsular while staying true to the traditional culture the mother city offers it’s children,
Originally from Durban, Leon is still an accidental tourist in the city he now calls home and as such is on the line between resident and local tourist able to provide inside knowledge and flavour to the average mundane travel blog.
He is always on the look out for that hidden gem or typical CT party. If it’s fun, relevant, he will cover it.
Says Andy (&DC), "I took [the image] in October 2004 on the first leg of my honeymoon. We spent around four days in the Cape using Camps Bay as our base, having had Boulders Beach on our must-see list before travelling.
"On arrival we took the local advice to visit Table Mountain ASAP, given there was no cloud, and spent the second day touring the city and taking a trip to Robben Island. On the third and fourth days we decided to hire a car and explore some more, something I would recommend to all visitors. We toured Cape Point and visited Boulders [Beach] on a round trip, which took us north via the mountains and Stellenbosch.
"The trip holds such great memories for my wife and I. The scenery was simply stunning and the locals were fantastic. We hope to visit again and see more of South Africa. Cape Town jumped to number one of [the] cities I [had] visited across the world after this trip and still remains there," Andy Carr, London, UK.
