Keen to make a difference in the life of a child this chilly season. Help us and the Cape Town Angels assist the Huis Andrew Murray children's home with our donation drive this June. Image courtesy of www.ctangels.co.za

“History will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of children.” –Nelson Mandela

With Youth Day on June 16, the anniversary of the student uprising in 1976, rolling around this weekend, the Mother City’s children and their wellbeing are at the forefront of our minds.

In honour of this, we are proud to announce our support of the Cape Town Angels’ donation drive for Huis Andrew Murray (HAM), a children’s home with kids hailing from all over the city, in Wellington by hosting drop-off points at our Visitor Information Centres from Wednesday 11 to Monday 30 June, 2014.

Cape Town Angels is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering commitment, partnership and collaboration through sharing “The Magic of Compassion” by boosting other social responsibility initiatives and developing community-based projects.

You may have seen the Angels fluttering their generous wings at events like Taste of Cape Town and with projects like the Blanket Wings blanket drive around the city. HAM is one of their core projects, and a key focus for our angelic helpers is raising awareness of the organisation’s monetary, development and skills needs.

Keen to help us and the Angels share some heavenly benevolence this chilly season? Here’s the divine 411:

Blessed supplies needed:

The charming youngsters residing at HAM are toddlers to teenagers and are in need of toiletries (diapers, powder, roll on etc.), clothing (socks, shoes, pants and sleepwear); household goods (duvet covers, sheets, plastic plates and mugs), school supplies (bags, stationery) and more.
