Haas café at Bo-Kaap – Flickr pic of the day
Says Casian Johnson Wright, “When I relocated to Cape Town 12 years ago, I started to collect old black & white pictures of the Mother City. Although living in the suburbs, I have been monitoring the revival of the inner city with great interest.
I recently discovered my passion for photography and, combined with all the interesting flavours this country has to offer, I would like to share the world as I see it through my lense.
The Bo-Kaap is one of the most defining areas of Cape Town, a place that stimulates all senses – the vibrant colours, smells, noises and tastes. In the middle of it all there is a little corner café, called Haas, that seems to tick all these boxes offering a unique experience by taking you back in time. The old-world outfits and rustic interior (including an old Has Garanti coffee machine) lend themselves to be shot in black & white.
So this is my contribution, documenting Cape Town’s current look and feel for everyone to enjoy.”
