As lovers celebrated Valentine’s Day in February, the city of Cape Town proudly launched the Green Point Urban Park to the public.

Situated in Green Point next to the Cape Town Stadium, which was used for the FIFA 2010 World Cup™, the multipurpose 10.5 hectare park is open seven days a week from 07h00 to 19h00.

It is intended as an inner city “people’s recreation park” and has a fitness park with cycling, outdoor training and gym facilities which are available to visitors.

The venue includes a play park, adventure park, a learning park for functions or seminars, an art park for exhibitions and craft markets, an events park for concerts, outdoor markets and much more.

For all those who enjoy the outdoors, a visit to the Green Point Urban Park will also give them a chance to see the heritage park which connects various heritage sites that pedestrians can walk to and learn more about like the Mouille Point Lighthouse.

You may be wondering what you will pay to enter and use these facilities? Well, entry to the park is free, but visitors are advised to follow certain rules.
