Give our #LoveCapeTown bloggers a warm Mother City Welcome
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
In 2012, Cape Town Tourism rocked the social networking world by hosting four international bloggers on a series of experiences around our hometown and getting them to share their adventures on their platforms , which contributed to us winning the Travel + Leisure SMITTY Awards (Social Media in Travel + Tourism Awards) in the category Best Overall Use of Social Media, CVB, Global.
From Wednesday 18 September to Monday 7 October 2013, we are set to do it again so join us in giving our #LoveCapeTown bloggers Rachel Lucas, Abigail King and Carol T. More a warm welcome to our inspirational Mother City!
What’s it all about?
Through following the blogs and tweets of the travelling trio you, our #LoveCapeTown fanatics, will get an insider’s view of how the bloggers’ adventures in Cape Town unfold and will have the opportunity to participate and be able to suggest things for the writers to do.
Who are these gorgeous world travellers, we hear you ask? The three bloggers (all of whom are frequent Tweeters) are from key tourism source markets for Cape Town:
• Rachel Lucas from The Travel Bite (USA) looks at travel through the prism of food and wine: @TravelBlggr
•Abigail King from Inside The Travel Lab (UK) is a travel and lifestyle blogger: @insidetravellab
•Carol T. More from Follow the Colours (Brazil) has a distinct take on creativity and design: @follow_colours
What are Rachel, Abigail and Carol going to get up to while they are here?
Cape Town is home to so many fantastic attractions and activities. The list is quite endless, but top of their action-packed itineraries are a visit to our gorgeous wonder of nature, Table Mountain; luxury spa treatments with a view at the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa ; people watching at the Mother City’s sizzling coffee shops; a meet and greet with our friendly African Penguins at Boulder’s Beach; a walking tour of our creative Fringe District and Woodstock; giving back to the Masiphumelele community with an AWOL Cycle Tour; a thrilling ride on the Flying Dutchman Funicular at Cape Point; a surfing lesson at Muizenberg Beach; a shopping trip and walkabout the harbour at the V&A Waterfront; high tea at the decadent Mount Nelson Hotel; a taste of the township life in Langa; an underground tour through the tunnels of Cape Town and so much more.
What would a holiday to #LoveCapeTown be without good hosts?
