Mark says: “The Southern Ink Tattoo convention is one of my favourite events of the year here in Cape Town. I spend hours wandering around the exhibition hall, watching people decorate their bodies. I get to photograph some of the most talented tattoo artists in the world creating masterpieces.

“It is quite fascinating to see the different kinds of people getting tattoos and trying to understand their motivations.

“Despite my fascination with the art form, I haven’t been brave enough to get something done myself; maybe next year…”
