Get the last few CHAN fixtures before the finals

The last few fixtures of the Orange African Nations Championship are set, and then we'll bid farewell to what has been a few weeks of pure soccer magic. The qualifying teams have been chosen to play a series of matches that I believe will be quite gripping as Zimbabwe, Libya, Ghana and Nigeria have all shown tremendous promise throughout the tournament. So without further ado, here's a recap of who to watch at the semi-finals this week:

Tonight, 29 January 2014

  • Zimbabwe v Libya, 17:00 at the Free State Stadium
  • Ghana v Nigeria, 20:30 at the Free State Stadium

Overall, it’s been an exciting tournament in Cape Town as soccer fans came together and brought back the spirit of football in the city. Fan walks were packed on match days, stadium ticket sales fared well and the after-game festivities showed our international visitors that the Mother City is always ready for a party.

The finals are set to commence on 2 February.  And as the teams prepare for the next round of matches, let’s take a look at the CHAN 2014 highlights with Toyin Ibitoye as he leads a panel of analysts on 'Sports Tonight' in a review of matches played at the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The video is quite long, but worth a watch as the panel also analyses key performances of teams such as Nigeria throughout the tournament.
