Gay and Lesbian Wedding Show comes to the Mother City

“ Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married”...

Pink wedding fever will hit the Mother City with a confetti bang when the inaugural Gay and Lesbian Wedding Show opens at the Grand Daddy Hotel in the City Centre on Saturday October 29.

Running until Sunday October 30, the show is set to be a happy marriage of quality nuptial service providers and excited engaged same-sex couples looking to plan their dream weddings.

Offering show attendees the best that their Pink Rand (the purchasing power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community) can buy, there are more than 30 service providers at the show. From photographers and make-up artists to caterers and bridal-wear designers, you’ll find it all, and more, at the show.

From the frivolous (a fashion show exhibiting the latest must-have bridal wear by new and established designers) to the serious (various speakers will be presenting informative talks ranging from gay adoption and the legalities of gay marriage to the perfect honeymoon destinations) and the serendipitous (keep an eye out for the luxurious spot prize giveaways), this is an event not to be missed!

Same-sex marriage has been legal in South Africa since 2006 when the Civil Union Act was passed, but the niche market of gay wedding service providers has been largely overlooked. The Gay and Lesbian Wedding Show will set the record straight on that account and ensure that you have everything you need for your special day.

Don’t miss the celebration of marriage equality in South Africa with the Gay and Lesbian Wedding Show at the Grand Daddy Hotel this October. For more information, please call +27(0)78 231 4705.
