Fun on Muizenberg Beach – Flickr pic of the day

This picture of the colourful changing huts for bathers on Muizenberg Beach was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Hirohiko Okada aka 1/8 sec.

Okada says, “I saw a happy moment in this scene and I just wished it would last forever. Imagine yourself on a beach, let go of your tension, and you feel your natural self again.

“I love the beach because you will always see a lot of varied life and drama.

“I release the shutter of my camera when I see even a tiny drama in daily life and I’m happiest when I can freeze the moment into a 2D image.

“Cape Town is not only known for its beautiful nature and environment, it is also full of the most interesting people,” he continues.

The brightly coloured Victorian beach houses on Muizenberg Beach are a visual echo of a time when this was Cape Town’s premier swimming beach.
