Fog over Cape Town – Flickr pic of the day

This photo shows the fog rolling in over Cape Town’s harbour and city centre. It was taken in winter 2008 by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Schalk Marais.

“It was taken on Signal Hill Drive early on a Saturday morning after quite a rainy and gloomy winter week,” says Schalk.

Signal Hill, which offers panoramic views across the Cape Town harbour, city and Atlantic Ocean, is a great spot for a picnic and you can watch the daily firing of the noon gun from there. Read more about this on the Signal Hill attraction page.

“Cape Town and the surrounding areas offer diverse photographic opportunities all within a short drive. In such a colourful, cosmopolitan city it is easy to experience various cultures just by walking or driving around a little bit. Some days I feel like a tourist in my own town, discovering unknown streets, buildings and hidden gems,” continues Schalk.

Schalk used a Canon D40 camera with a Sigma lens to take this photo.
