It is five years to the day since South Africa won the World Cup bid for 2010.

At 12h21 on May 15, 2004, following a vote by the FIFA Executive members, FIFA President Sepp Blatter opened the white envelope to reveal our beautiful country as the proud 2010 FIFA World Cup host.

In anticipation of this once-in-a-lifetime hosting experience, Cape Town Tourism will shortly be launching a new World Cup mini-site in conjunction with the City of Cape Town.

Cape Town is building up to being a World Cup host city and will hold the first big event – the World Cup draw – in December.

We can’t wait!
