Fires in Cape Town – Flickr pic of the day
Chris says, “The exceptional sunset colours are due to the smoke from fires that were burning in the area.
“Sometimes my workload is a bit rough and I don’t always get to shoot nice landscapes like this,” he continues.
Cape Town was hit by a number of fires earlier this year, which were fuelled by strong winds and intense heat. In spite of the difficult conditions, firefighters managed to get the blazes under control to protect the Mother City and her beautiful surrounds. Summer is the dry season in Cape Town, when the risk of vegetation burning is highest.
