Fazielah’s top three weekend bargain shopping spots in Cape Town

Shop until you drop for less at the Grand Parade in Cape Town this Saturday. Photo courtesy coda

So, it’s the middle of January (or, as our team likes to call it, Januworry) and you’re broke, but you simply HAVE to start shopping for that über-fabulous J&B Met, Swedish House Mafia or Madame Zingara outfit …

Stash those credit cards, my frugal friends, and come and hunt for bargains with me at these shopping spots in Cape Town from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 January, 2013:

Access Park

Conveniently situated just around the corner from Kenilworth Racecourse, home to the J&B Met, this factory wonderland offers you a variety of clothing options, from the discount ball gowns at Hip Hop Clothing to the chic-but-cheap items at Mr Price.

Take a much-needed break from your retail therapy with great value-for-money lunches at the Fruit & Veg store or trendy café Nino’s while you’re there.

For a detailed listing of all of its fabulous stores, visit www.accesspark.co.za.

Grand Parade

Saturday mornings are Grand Parade market mornings in the Fairest Cape, and I just cannot sing the praises of this little flea market mecca in the city centre enough!

You can find everything here, from gorgeous evening wear to sparkling accessories and that too-cute-not-to-buy cocktail dress, for less.

Muizenberg flea market

Sundays in the Mother City are just not complete without a visit to this sprawling market in Muizenberg.

Take a walk along the shore and grab a bite to eat from the many tantalising food stalls, before indulging in a lazy afternoon of browsing through the bountiful jewellery and clothing stands.
