Fazielah’s top three weekday picks in Cape Town for September 3 to 6, 2012

Cape Town, prepare to laugh until you cry with the 2012 Nando's Comedy Festival at the Artscape Theatre this week

Cape Town lovers, welcome to the first week of spring!

Typical of the lovely Mother City, she has a fresh, new line-up of revitalising activities to get you in the mood for the new season.

Join me at the following events this week to discover that the deeper you go into Cape Town, the more beautiful she gets:

Nando’s Comedy Festival 2012

It’s back! South Africa’s longest running laugh fest, the 16th annual Nando’s Comedy Festival returns to the Artscape Theatre stage to tickle you pink this week.

There’s no way that you’ll be able to keep a straight face amongst the likes of United States actor Orlando Jones (from Martin, Evolution and Office Space), Louis Katz and David Kau.

To book tickets, contact +27 (0)861 915 8000. To get your comedic juices flowing, check out the video of Orlando Jones' act at the Laugh Factory.

Grapes, Gourmet & Gallery Evening with Hamilton Russel Wine Estate

Ease away your midweek stress by sipping on delicious wine, feasting on a scrumptious dinner and appreciating some fine art at the Winchester Mansions in Sea Point this Wednesday.

Icons of the '80s

So, your moonwalk is way better than the King of Pop’s, Madonna has nothing on your rendition of Papa Don’t Preach and Lionel Ritchie’s Endless Love is your anniversary song … the '80s was obviously your decade!

Relive those special moments with the magical tribute show, Icons of the '80s, at the Barnyard Theatre in Tyger Valley.

To book tickets, contact +27 (0)21 914 8898.
