Fans’ Favourite #LoveCapeTown Icon

This week, in honour of Tourism Month, we asked you, our loyal Facebook fans, to tell us what your favourite Cape Town icon is from the list: 1) Table Mountain 2) Robben Island 3) Kirstenbosch Gardens 4) Boulders Beach 5) Cape Point 6) Constantia Winelands and 7) V&A Waterfront. While most of you said it was a tough choice, which we have to agree with, it was quite clear that your favourite Cape Town icon is the majestic Table Mountain.

A little bit about Table Mountain

The main feature of Table Mountain is its flat plateau that's bordered by Devil's Peak to the east and by Lion's Head to the west. It has always been one of the most recognisable landmarks in Cape Town and creates a dramatic backdrop to the city. The mountain is officially part of the Table Mountain National Park and many visitors (local and international) frequent the area regularly by taking the cableway or hiking right to the top.  The view from the top has been described as one of the most epic views in Africa.

Here are some of our favourite responses from our fans:

Adrian Phipps Has to be Table Mountain... Nothing else symbolizes Cape Town like this wonder of the world!!!

Ghalied Majiet Table Mountain, after continuos long spells away from Cape Town, flying in and making the approach for landing, seeing it just lets you know that you are back in the ' motherland'
