Fans’ Favourite #BraaiDay foods

September 24 is Heritage Day in South Africa. It is also Braai Day. Last week, in honour of #BraaiDay we asked you, our Facebook fans, what your number one favourite braai food is? Options: A) Traditional Boerewors B) Succulent lamb chops C) A juicy steak D) I'm a vegetarian, so a tasty veggie burger does it for me. Not only did we get you to tell us your favourite food, we got some lovely side dish ideas, sure to make any braai all the more delicious.

A little bit about Braai Day

National Heritage Day is a public holiday  that encourages all South Africans to celebrate our rich heritage. And, across the rainbow nation we all share one common heritage: the braai.  Whether you call it Chisa Nyama, Braai or Ukosa South African come together around fire and prepare great feasts. Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, patron of Braai Day has affirmed it to be a “unifying force” for all south Africans.

Here are some of our favourite responses from our fans
